NBS: Local Chinese rebar prices up 1.7 percent in early June
In early June (June 1-10) this year, the average price in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar increased by RMB 62.7/mt ($8.8/mt) or 1.7 percent to RMB 3,664.9/mt ($512/mt), compared to prices in late May (May 21-31), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics on June 14.In the given period, the average prices of wire rod, hot rolled coil (HRC) and angles increased by 2.1 percent, 1.6 percent and 2.2 percent, respectively, while the average price of medium plate and seamless steel pipes edged down by 0.6 percent and 1.0 percent, all compared to late May. $1 = RMB 7.1566
